The Oxford Online Walking Map is a collaborative creation launched in summer 2023. It shows on- and off-road walking routes through the city and its green spaces to help plan your journeys and discover new places in Oxford.
The map shows the locations of Oxford’s many benches for breaking a journey or enjoying a view, and playgrounds are marked across the city, whether as destinations or places to pause when walking with children.
Our aim is to add to the map by including a layer of places of local and historical interest, with photos. We’d love help with this, so if you are a member of a local history group or a residents’ association, or even if you just know a lot about local history and want to get involved, please message us.

A ‘good surface’ is one where year-round access with buggies and wheelchairs should be possible: typically, tarmac or otherwise paved.
A ‘less good surface’ is one where this is not guaranteed: typically, earth or otherwise not paved.
